Course objectives:

  • Relate why it is important to understand needs and wants of customers;
  • Identify the three primary categories of electric consumers, plus the two categories of wholesale customers;
  • Apply your knowledge of different types of customers to determine expected customer usage patterns;
  • Identify the key variables that determine the demand an individual customer or group of customers will put on the system;
  • Distinguish between services and rate structures available to different categories of customers.
