This course summarizes the AICPA Independence and Ethics developments during 2014-2015 to include changes to the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and other update/changes to respective rules and interpretations, including: the AICPA Ethics Codification Project; changes to the Conceptual Framework; new definitions to include '??Partner Equivalent'?? and â??Those Charged with Governanceâ??; and revisions to the guidance with respect to nonattest services and situations involving subordination of judgment by a member. Upon completion of this course, the reader should be able to: Differentiate between the various parts of the revised AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and determine which parts relate to members in business and members in public practice. Identify the effective date for the new conceptual frameworks included within the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct. Recognize the various types of threats to a memberâ??s independence. Identify the key characteristics of the new definition for partner equivalent. Identify the effective date for the revised interpretation with respect to subordination of judgment.
